Cincinnati, OH - The Modal Shop, Inc. is pleased to announce the installation of the Model K9905D Ultra High Pressure Calibration System at Chesapeake Testing in Belcamp, Maryland. Chesapeake Testing is using the K9905D to support its Ammunition Testing Services. Chesapeake offers a total of eight indoor firing ranges, including one drive-in range for testing large-scale and full-up weapon systems and defense platforms.

The company offers ammunition testing in accordance with Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI), FBI, and NATO protocols, and uses The Modal Shop's Ultra High Pressure Calibration System as an in-house calibration system for validating piezoelectric pressure sensors used on the company's test range. The system allows Chesapeake to have faster response in characterizing ammunition cartridge pressure, greater repeatability in testing, more accurate data sets and faster turnaround time. 

The K9905D puts the company in the position of having pressure sensor calibration capability as well as having accreditation for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC), National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) and American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) 17025:2005.

Chesapeake uses its accreditation in the testing of ballistic-resistant personal body armor (NIJ 0101.06), stab-resistant Person Protective Equipment (PPE) (NIJ 0115.00), hard armor, soft armor and helmet testing (US Army - Aberdeen Test Center) as well as Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistance Testing (SD-STD-01.01).
