Rent a complete shaker kit for structural or product testing. The Modal Shop has expanded our line of electrodynamic exciters and vibration shakers, many of which are now available for rental. The Modal Shop's shakers range from our 4 lbf mini SmartShaker™ with built in amplifier up to our compact 110 lbf dual purpose unit.
Shakers in our dual purpose line include a platform for vibration control tests of components and subassemblies. They are also equipped with a through-hole armature with chuck and collet attachment to allow simple stinger set-up for use as a modal shaker.

These electrodynamic exciters are small, portable permanent magnet shakers. They are ideally suited for general purpose vibration testing of small components and sub-assemblies, or as excitation transducers for modal, academic, biomedical, or laboratory research. The shakers feature extremely rugged suspension systems using carbon fiber composite leaf armature flexures. Isolated linear bearings provide low distortion and eliminate the need for reaction wrenches when mounting loads to the armature. A trunnion base with EasyTurn™ handles allows for convenient mounting and positioning.

For many modal test applications, an electrodynamic shaker system is best suited for creating an appropriate input forcing function. Distributing adequate input force energy across the test structure and obtaining accurate and reliable input force measurements is critical for successful modal and structural testing. This often requires a shaker that is highly portable, rugged and easy to setup in order to facilitate the best exciter location (relative to the test structure) while minimizing any unwanted interaction between the exciter and test structure.

The Modal Shop's dual purpose shakers come withe a large armature (3.25 inch [8.3 cm] diameter platform table to support test objects) making the shaker ideal for traditional vibration control testing of components and subassemblies. The unit is also designed with a through-hole armature and includes a chuck and collet attachment, providing simple set-up with stingers for experimental modal analysis applications.

The precision air bearing calibration shaker is well suited for or use in the demanding environment of high volume, production comparison accelerometer calibration systems. Unlike other air bearing shakers that use rubber bands to adjust and balance the armature, The Modal Shop's aire bearing shaker uses a unique Lorentz force lifting mechanism making calibration of various accelerometer sizes quick and easy. An integral reference accelerometer mounted within a beryllium insert has a mounted resonance greater than 70 kHz permitting the shaker to be used for resonance searches to over 50 kHz while also limiting unwanted transverse motion.
